Tom Ennis - The Master Pipers Vol.5

Tom Ennis: The Master Pipers Volume 5 is the latest publication of archival recordings by Na Píobairí Uilleann. This new double CD and 48-page booklet presents 45 recordings of the US-born piper, Tom Ennis, made between 1917 and 1929. The records included in the publication have been donated by NPU members. All of the recordings have been transferred from 78s and restored by Harry Bradshaw.

This is the first time that Ennis is the focus of a rerelease project and many of the recordings included here are extremely rare. Best known for his recordings with legendary Sligo fiddle player James Morrison, this new release features solo piping performances along with duets and trios with fiddle players Tom Quigley, John Garridy and James Morrison and accordion player Redie Johnson.
